Story

Many older people are concerned about coronavirus. They may be worried about leaving their home and are self-isolating, or may be simply unable to get out safely.

Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland is responding to this with a package of support for those isolated at home to keep them healthy and well including:

  • delivering care packages (long-life food and toiletries)
  • redeploying staff to call and visit older people to check they are coping and have provisions
  • a dedicated coronavirus hotline for anyone who is worried, isolated or struggling to cope
  • volunteers to help with shopping and collecting prescriptions
  • developing a hot meal delivery service from our community centres

Your help is essential to keep our older neighbours healthy and well.
Please donate to keep these vital services running throughout the Coronavirus crisis.
